MTV and VH1 are as ingrained in today’s social fabric as the musical artists and their videos that are watched by millions daily on these networks. But that was not always the case. During the early years of rock, music was heard on radios and record players and only seen in concert arenas, on TV variety shows and the like. How did this revolutionary change come about? We at Creative Entertainment wanted to know and embarked on a fantastic journey that is resulting in our new soon to be released documentary, “Birth of the Music Video”. We explore the early pioneers in this field including the geniuses at Group One who, during the 1960s created, if not the first, then certainly many of the first film/music pieces for Laugh-In, The Smothers Brothers and other shows which eventually led to what came to be known as Music Videos. Featuring such artists as Kenny Rogers and the First Edition, The Bee Gees, and the Temptations, you will marvel how advanced these early works were during a period when technology was in its infancy.
